AWS GovCloud Services – Hyperscale Hosting Tailored for Public Sector Security
AWS has established dedicated regions that adhere to stringent security and compliance requirements, such as encryption, access controls, and monitoring.
The tier one Cloud providers like AWS have tailored their services for the public sector, enabling governments to also adopt these same innovation capabilities and accelerated rates of deployment.
AWS operates dedicated Cloud regions for public sector organizations, their ‘GovCloud’ services.
In order to cater to the specific needs of government customers, AWS has established dedicated regions that adhere to stringent security and compliance requirements, such as encryption, access controls, and monitoring. The AWS Government Regions are purpose-built, compliance-eligible, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructures designed to address mission needs and critical workload requirements for civilian, healthcare, and financial agencies, and supporting organizations.
In this lightning talk, learn how AWS Government Regions help customers accelerate their desired outcomes and the deployment of modern applications while reducing risk compared to legacy on-premises deployments.
Digital Government Transformation
GovCloud services enable the public sector to speed their digital transformation initiatives, and AWS offers a portfolio of customer case studies that explain how.
Pioneers like Digital Iceland offer advice to other governments for leading successful digital transformation. Since becoming Digital Iceland’s CEO in 2020, Andri Kristinsson has led successful nation-scale digital transformation. He describes core components that other transformation mission leaders can use, including how to talk to users, use open source solutions, and build momentum by transforming an initial high-profile service.
The Cloud enables agencies to rapidly implement technology and policy programs required for online government services. For example Serverless for Digital Identity GOV.UK One Login lets customers sign in to a Government service with their email address, password and two-factor authentication, with deployment accelerated through Serverless computing.
This also includes making AI more accessible. In this talk Clint Crosier, AWS Director for Aerospace and Satellite explains how AWS is on a mission to democratize generative AI, making it safe, easy and cost-effective for any organization. You’ll also hear from Ross Ermel on the Department of National Defence’s digital transformation journey in the cloud.
